It doesn't have to cost money to have some great experiences in Schladming on your summer holiday

Many of the activities are free and the rest are offered at a discount. Below you can see our suggestions for a summer holiday in Schladming where you can take advantage of some of the free options.

Day 1

Start your day with a hearty breakfast buffet at Hotel Planai. A large and varied breakfast buffet awaits you, ensuring a full stomach for both young and old. You are welcome to pack a packed lunch with the selection from the breakfast buffet, which you can take with you and enjoy for lunch.

Morning:
Take the lift to the top of Planai.

Walk the 'Panorama' route around the plateau. Explore Hopsiland with all kinds of activities for the kids. The route is stroller-friendly and easy to navigate for the whole family.

If you've forgotten your packed lunch... Enjoy lunch at Onkel Willy Hütte, where a Jausenteller for EUR 20 is highly recommended, or at Schafalm just below the gondola where in the summer period there is often music with local Tyrolean orchestras.

Afternoon:
A 5 min walk from Hotel Planai is 'Erlebnisbad Schladming'. A lovely 4,000 square metre waterpark where the whole family can satisfy their waterpark cravings. There are both indoor and outdoor pools to enjoy. You get access to Erlebnisbad Schladming 3 hours a day during your stay.

Evening:
If you have purchased your stay with All Inclusive Light, dinner is enjoyed in the hotel restaurant, where drinks are included.

Spend time playing games, making new friends in the playroom or socialising either in the hotel lobby, outdoor terrace or on your room's balcony. Enjoy a quiet moment with stunning sunsets behind the mountains.

Day 2

Start your day with a hearty breakfast buffet at Hotel Planai. A large and varied breakfast buffet awaits you, ensuring a full stomach for both young and old. You are welcome to pack a packed lunch with the selection from the breakfast buffet, which you can take with you and enjoy for lunch.

Morning:
Use the summer pass and head to either Hauser Kaibling or Hochwurzen and use the playgrounds on the mountain tops or down by the lifts.

Afternoon:
Head to Ramsau am Dachstein and try the popular winter sport of biathlon - in summer. Free activity available at the Laser-Biathlon Alpine Centre. Duration approx. 1 hour.

Day 3

Morning:
Take the lift to the top of Planai.

From the top there is a blue route all the way back to Hotel Planai. The route is suitable for families with children (no pushchairs etc. Children must be able to walk on their own)

It is possible to break up the trip by taking the lift down at the intermediate station - or take it over 2 days. The tour can be taken both up and down. There are benches along the route, so bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.

Take a break at the Kessler Alm at Middle Station in beautiful, relaxing surroundings and great views from the deckchairs

Want the kids to try climbing?

Book in advance for a free introduction with a meeting point at Wehrhofalm, Obertal where equipment and trainers are available

Enjoy the day at Pichl See, where you can swim and socialise.

There are plenty of play activities and a great relaxing atmosphere.

If you want a little detour in the afternoon, Mandlberggut is recommended. A cosy distillery with gin, schnapps and whisky as well as cosmetics. A great coffee can be enjoyed with a view of the valley.

'Der Wilde Berg' - A zoo on the mountain

Discover bears, foxes, goats, raccoons and many other animals. Up to 300 children can play with animals in the Kinder-Stadl.

Take the lift up and see the animals from above. The way down the mountain can be via the lift, go-kart, on hiking trails. There's something for everyone!
