Summer holiday in Schladming

In Schladming you will find activities for everyone. Whether you want a relaxed holiday or a more active one, hier you will be able to find it all. In the charming city you will find both shopping, cafes and the city´s own brewery. The beautiful nature invites you to join the activities.

Schladming-Dachstein summer card

When you stay at our Hotel Planai, the Summer card is included. With the Summer card you have reduced or free entry to many activities in the region. (We cannot be held responsible for any restrictions or changes in opening times etc.).

With over 100 free holiday experiences and over 100 bonus services, the Schladming-Dachstein Summer card is one of the largest all-inclusive cards in the Alps. Holiday guests staying at Hotel Planai between 17 May and 3 November 2024 will receive the Summer card - without paying a cent more - to add to their holiday fun. The Summer card is valid from 1pm on the day of arrival and throughout your stay (including the day of departure). Please note the opening times of the attractions.

With the Schladming-Dachstein Summer card, you can enjoy a daily ride on the mountain railway of your choice and use all other leisure facilities as often as you like.

Of course, there is also a separate Kids Summer Card for our little guests. The card offers an unbeatable holiday package especially for families. More than 40 holiday activities for children and families are included.

Wagrain is the favourite destination for families, also during the summer season. Here you will find activities that suits the whole family, from the youngest family members to the oldest. Enjoy the nature exactly the way you want to.

When you stay at Grafenberg Resort or Hotel Kirchboden you will have free access to Wasserwelt Wagrain, which is located very close to both accommodations.

With the free Salzburger Sportwelt Card, you can make the most of our marvelous mountain world and the diverse leisure facilities full of sports, fun and culture for all generations.

Wasserwelt Wagrain

Both in the winter- and summer season you have daily free access to water fun in Wasserwelt Wagrain. In the summer season, you have a daily entrance to the indoor and outdoor pool. By bad weather the entrance will be limited to 3 hours. In the winter season, you have 3 hours entrance to the indoor pool.

The alpine summer is something special with its green meadows, crystal clear water and snow-covered peaks. The majesty of nature is worth a visit in itself. But there is much more to discover and explore. A summer holiday in the Alps offers an active holiday full of adventure.

Active family holidays in Austria

When you travel to the Alps with your family, you can be as active as you like. It is perfectly acceptable to relax with a good book or simply enjoy the stunning views. It is your choice. But if you and your family want to be active, there are plenty of things to do.

Hiking and mountain biking in the Alps

In summer, the Alps are made for physical activity and there is something for every level. From leisurely walks in the beautiful countryside to something a little more challenging, such as alpine trekking. Hiking in the Alps is a great feeling and not only do you get exercise, but you also get the most amazing views.

If you are looking for a real adrenaline rush, try downhill mountain biking. Schladming and Wagrain both offer the best conditions for an adrenaline filled tour down the mountain on 2 wheels.

If it is still a while before the start of your trip, you can opt for free cancellation to remain flexible. With free cancellation, a change of plan is no problem!

In all Alpeffect hotels free cancellation is possible up to 3 days before arrival. The price is €10 per night/room.

  • For summer bookings: Free cancellation possible up to 30 days before arrival
  • You can make changes to the booking free of charge up to 30 days before your booked stay begins.
  • If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your home country issues a complete travel ban (for vaccinated, Covid-19 recovered and non-vaccinated persons) and forbids to enter Austria or if the borders to Austria are closed, you will get your money back.
